Veterans Park
Reclaiming space to honor service and community.
Located along Royal South Parkway, Veterans Park expands Union City's park system with additional green space designed for reflection and connection. The park features a natural walking trail around the pond, a connecting bridge, and a formal memorial area honoring the branches of the United States Armed Forces.
Current Status: Completed
Gateway Park
Reclaiming space for movement and connection.
Gateway Park will expand Union City's multi-use trail network, creating new opportunities for walking, biking, gathering, and enjoying the outdoors. Planned features include picnic areas, seating, natural walking paths, and landscaped green space, blending active recreation with places to pause and connect.

Shannon Parkway
Renewing a major roadway for safer everyday movement.
This project will enhance Shannon Parkway with roadway resurfacing, new sidewalks, pedestrian lighting, landscaping, and an extension of the Union City Greenline. By adding safer walking and biking connections, the improvements will better link neighborhoods, parks, and nearby destinations.
Together, these updates will create a more welcoming and walkable experience along Shannon Parkway.

Roosevelt Highway (Phase II)
Renewing a major gateway into Union City.
Phase II continues the transformation of Roosevelt Highway into a safer and more welcoming entrance to the city. This next phase will extend the Union City Greenline, adding a dedicated walking and biking path and a new pedestrian bridge to improve safety and make it easier for people to move through the area.
Stretching from SR 92 to Highpoint Road, these improvements will better connect neighborhoods, businesses, and recreational spaces while supporting a more walkable, active community.

Longino Drive Parking
Supporting community spaces as they grow.
This project will expand parking at Ronald Bridges Park to better accommodate the growing number of visitors enjoying the park's recreational, community, and cultural activities. By preparing and improving land adjacent to the existing lot, the City is creating additional convenient parking while enhancing overall accessibility and functionality.

Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Study
This citywide study identified high-risk areas and opportunities to improve safety for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists. The findings now guide future roadway improvements and help shape a safer, more connected Union City.
